Tracie Sanchez

Ever since Pop loaded us kids in the back of the station wagon with a Rand McNally map to keep us busy, I have loved adventure and finding my way. Falling in love with trails in grad school led me to create the GeorgiaTrails Alliance nonprofit and most days you will find me on a hybrid bicycle mapping out trail rides, fish tacos and craft beer. Sharing those trail scenes, the flora & fauna, and tasty grub is how I’ll entice you and your adventure partner to venture out and explore by bike.

What’s Your Travel Style?

“For a bike adventure, I don’t leave the house without Kind bars & LMNT hydration water in my pack, a glance at the trail maps and the forecast. Usually my adventure partner husband has already pumped the tires and oiled the chain. In the Subaru, there’s always a towel, camp chairs, and dry clothes just in case we spontaneously decide to stay overnight.”

What Georgia Spot Feels
Like ‘Home’ to You?

“Feels like a true escape from city life when you are biking under the tree canopy and near mountain creeks. My favorite reward after biking in the mountains is to google the nearest winery, coffee shop, brewery, and historic downtown. Walk along the shops, grab a bite to eat, and scan the flyers for a car show, outdoor play, or live music.”

What’s One Thing You
Always Do When You Travel?

“We all seek inspiration and some of need credit for every journey, so I track the ride in my fitness app, add photos, and post my adventure while i’m cooling off with an affogato from the ice cream stand on the square!”
