Nicole Newsom

A Georgia girl through and through, I grew up just a stone’s throw away from the banks of Lake Lanier and my family’s ties to the area north of Macon date back generations. Traveling is my passion, and whether that’s hopping on a plane to faraway lands or exploring the treasures to be found here in my home state, you’ll rarely find me at home except to curl up with a book telling tales of long ago. A history buff with a soft spot for romance, I am most intrigued by landscapes untouched by time, local legends and lore, and heritage sites significant to cultural understanding. But I am not immune to the call of adventure, oh no! Just as long as it’s on my own terms—no alligators and snakes for me, thank you very much!

What’s Your Travel Style?

“I’m a bit of an extreme planner, lol. (I made a video about it once…I make travel “murder boards” ) “

What Georgia Spot Feels
Like ‘Home’ to You?

“The North Georgia Mountains, 100%! Give me a good book, a glass of wine and a porch looking out on the Blue Ridge and I’m all set for a recharge.”

What’s One Thing You
Always Do When You Travel?

“Try to find an adventure. From a hunt for a rumored abandoned castle hidden in the woods to a “farm stand” scavenger hunt collecting items for a picnic in an epic location, every place I go I try to find something that almost feels like a secret, where the journey becomes the experience worth remembering.”
