Joni Buford

From the swamplands of Southeast Louisiana to my new-ish home in North Georgia– my love for good food, good people, and good music runs deep. Travel is in my DNA, and when I arrive at a destination, I want to dive right into the heart of it. I’m a lover of soft adventure and a sucker for a good view—whether I’m chasing mountaintops or being drawn to just about any body of water, I’m always seeking my next great journey. As an “old millennial” mom to three teenagers, traveling with my family brings me the most joy, especially in those little moments between destinations—car rides filled with music, laughter, and endless snacks. Travel isn’t just my passion—it’s been my career, and I’m here to share the stories that keep that passion alive.

What’s Your Travel Style?

“I’m a “word of mouth” traveler! I take a deep interest in the spots, sights, and bites I hear about from friends and family, social media, and review sites. If there’s a great Insta reel on it, you can bet I’m saving it and putting it on my to-do list.”

What Georgia Spot Feels
Like ‘Home’ to You?

“My heart is equally split here in Georgia! Growing up along the Gulf Coast, coastal Georgia naturally brings me absolute joy. I’ll never pass up a chance to be in Savannah or Jekyll Island. But! I’ve always felt I belonged in the North Georgia Mountains. It is my true happy place—the views, the events, the people… it just can’t be beat.”

What’s One Thing You
Always Do When You Travel?

“I’m always looking for a Farmers Market, art market, U-Pick farm, antique shop or flea market to check out wherever I travel. Also, if there’s a unique local snack or delicacy (I’m talking to you, boiled peanuts), that’s definitely on the must-do list.”
