Ashley Topham

As a seasoned travel writer and Georgia native, I’m passionate about traveling and immersing myself in new experiences. My work has appeared in both international and U.S.-based publications, exploring themes from luxury hotels and travel experiences to in-depth features on cities and states to showcase their unique landscape. By using a storytelling lens, my goal is to transport readers to the destinations I write about and inspire them for their next travel adventure.

What’s Your Travel Style?

“My travel style revolves around researching the destination I’m visiting and finding my specific points of interest. This includes unique coffee shops, bookstores, bakeries, art museums, historic locations, foodie spots and must-see attractions. I don’t actually plan out an itinerary beyond this because I still want to have the flexibility to explore the city and see where the day takes me. My must-have item is a portable charger for my phone because I love to take tons of pictures and videos during my trips and this ensures I can stay out all day!”

What Georgia Spot Feels
Like ‘Home’ to You?

“I spent almost every weekend growing up exploring Atlanta and nearby cities like Decatur with my mom, so those cities have always felt like home to me. Whether it’s going to a coffee shop I love, a bookstore or even a museum in these areas, exploring my interests makes me feel like my happiest self and reminds me of my childhood.”

What’s One Thing You
Always Do When You Travel?

“The one thing I always do when I travel besides taking way too many pictures is save everything I can for my travel journal. Whether it’s a guide from a museum, a receipt from a restaurant I loved or even a wrapper from a piece of candy (especially while traveling internationally), I keep it all! After my trip, it usually takes a while for me to gather everything together, but then I glue it all into my journal along with any entries I managed to write during my travels so I have something tangible to look back on.”
