Cloudland at McLemore is one of our most favorite Georgia hidden secrets that we have uncovered! Nestled on Lookout Mountain in Rising Fawn, this resort is an unexpected oasis with breathtaking views at every turn.
From the moment we arrived, the friendly and helpful valet attendants set the tone for the on-point attention to detail that sets this property apart. Upon entering, the beautiful lodge made us want to cozy up to one of the many fireplaces scattered throughout with inviting gathering spaces, inside and out. Yes, fire pits with Adirondack chairs beckon you to the great outdoors overlooking the infinity pool and hot tub perched on the ledge of sweeping mountain views.
What brought us to the property was a fabulous Napa Valley collective wine tasting (with an exceptionally well-crafted, endless charcuterie). Hosted in the resort’s beautiful ballroom, the evening’s atmosphere was intimate yet elevated. Guests had the opportunity to engage directly with winery representatives, learning about the notes, regions and stories behind each vintage while savoring every sip. The thoughtfully curated charcuterie complemented the wines beautifully, allowing the flavors to shine without overwhelming the tasting itself. It was the kind of event that effortlessly blended education, indulgence and atmosphere into one unforgettable night at a breathtaking location. What will bring us back is the hospitality and memory-making that they update often. Cocktail Workshops, Songwriters Series, Easter Brunch/Egg Hunt and Mother’s Day Brunch are just a few of McLemore’s upcoming events.
When planning your resort adventure, you MUST make reservations in advance for Auld Alliance, as it is not only an amazing culinary delight but it’s also wildly popular. Croft is also a great alternative and perfect for grabbing a seat at the bar for a bite.
Even though McLemore is well known to most avid golfers for its pristine, nationally recognized courses (a story for another day), Cloudland at McLemore Resort is the perfect complement to the property. The wonderful staff is happy to whisk you away to Highlands Clubhouse on one of their many multi-seat golf carts.
